Spotted ladysthumb (Polygonum persicaria) is an invasive plant. It is a native of Europe and Asia and was first detected in Michigan in 1984.

It has been introduced to North America and is naturalised in all mainland states, being found along roadsides, riverbanks, and on fallow ground.
