Coastal wattle

Acacia cyclops

Coastal wattle (Acacia cyclops) is an invasive plant. It is a native of Australia.

Coastal wattle has been used to help stabilize coastal sands. After intentional introduction in Africa, it spread rapidly and become a serious pest in southern Africa. A gall-forming fly has been introduced as a biological control, with only limited success so far.

For more information about this plant pest, see the CABI data sheet.
