Pale cyst nematode (Globodera pallida) is a nematode pest of potatoes and tomatoes. It is a native of South America and was first detected in Idaho in 2006.
The Idaho infestation is under eradication. If not controled this nematode may cause significant yield reductions and export exclusion. The USDA and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency have established guidelines for trade that address G. palida infestations.
For more information about this plant pest, see the CAPS data sheet and the CABI data sheet.
