Japanese cedar longhorned beetle

Callidiellum rufipenne

Japanese cedar longhorned beetle (Callidiellum rufipenne) is an insect pest of conifers. It is a native of East Asia and was first detected in Washington in 1954.

The larvae of this beetle feed and develop in cypress trees. Apparently healthy trees have been infested in Connecticut, but nursery trees are most at risk.

For more information about this plant pest, see the CABI data sheet.
