Lesser cattail (Typha angustifolia) is an invasive plant. It is a native of Europe and was first detected in Washington in 1997.
Typha angustifolia is a perennial herbaceous plant. This cattail is found in the northern hemisphere in marshy locations. It often out-competes many native marsh species to produce very dense, pure stands.
