Mud-mat (Glossostigma cleistanthum) is an invasive plant. It is a native of Australia and New Zealand and was first detected in Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, a in 1992.
Glossostigma cleistanthum spreads rapidly within and between both artificial and natural habitats. It is a particular threat to natural aquatic communities.
