Light brown apple moth (Epiphyas postvittana) is an insect pest of ornamental plants and agricultural crops. It is a native of Australia and was first detected in California in 2007.
This leafroller moth is a generalist feeder and a prolific pest without natural predators or parasites in North America. If not completely eradicated while the moth population in the U.S. is relatively small, the long-term impacts to the environment and agricultural production could be considerable.
For more information about this plant pest, see the CAPS data sheet and the CABI data sheet.
