European pepper moth

Duponchelia fovealis

European pepper moth (Duponchelia fovealis) is an insect pest of Begonia, Gerbera, Kalanchoe, Cyclamen and Pepper. It is a native of Mediterranean and was first detected in California in 2004.

They can cause considerable damage to plants by feeding on leaves, crowns and stems, and also by boring into the stems of some plants.
