Old World bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera) is an insect pest of African marigold, alfalfa, apple and many others. It is a native of Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe and was first detected in Guam in 1997.
Intercepted repeatedly at ports of entry, surveying has not detected the presence of this pest in the United States.
