European corn borer egg parasite (Trichogramma ostriniae) is a beneficial insect of corn. It is a native of Europe and was first detected in New York in 1991.
Because this species apparently has difficulty overwintering in New York, it is only found during the season in which it is being released. Additional study is required to determine if it is now successfully overwintering.
For more information about this plant pest, see the CABI data sheet.
