Slender-banded pinecone longhorn beetle (Chlorophorus strobilicola) is an insect pest of Chir pine, Pinus roxburghii. It is a native of India and was first detected in North Carolina in 2003.
This insect has a larval stage in pine cones and has been found in packages of potpourri from India. Chlorophorus strobilicola poses a high risk to US plant health. International commerce provides recognized avenues of introduction.
