Tetranychid mite (Tetranychus kanzawai) is a mite of Sugar Cane, Hydrangea, Tea etc.. It is a native of Australasia and was first detected in Florida in 2008.

The nymphs and adults of this spider mite extract plant sap from the epidermal cells on the underside of the leaves and damages many hosts. The economical risk is increased by the mode of reproduction of spider mites because a single egg may start a strain.
