Tomato yellow leaf curl (TYLCV) (Begomovirus Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus) is a viral pathogen. It was first detected in south Florida in 1997.
This virus causes severe stunting in tomato plants. Leaflets are reduced in size, curl upward and flowers wither. Plants will set very few fruit after infection occur.It is transmitted by the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci.
