Gladiolus rust (Uromyces transversalis) is a fungal pathogen. It was first detected in Florida in 2006.
The fungus Uromyces transversalis causes rust in the members of the family Iridaceae, including Gladiolus, Tritonia, Crocosmia, and Watsonia. Severely damaged plants do not flower and/or their corms do not ripen. The disease is serious in nurseries and can completely destroy commercial gladiolus crops.
For more information about this plant pest, see the CABI data sheet.
