Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri

Citrus canker (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri) is a bacterial pathogen of citrus trees. It is a native of Asia and was first detected in Florida in 1910.

Eradicated in 1933 and 1994, and detected again in 1995, the hurricanes of 2004-2005 distributed citrus canker in Florida past the point of possible eradication.
