Brazilian Elodea

Egeria densa

Brazilian Elodea (Egeria densa) is an invasive plant of fresh water. It is a native of Brazil and was first detected in New York in late 1800.

Found throughout the United States, this common aquarium plant quickly forms large, dense mats, choking out native vegetation, changing fishlife habitats, and interfering with water recreations.
