Elm seed bug

Arocatus melanocephalus

Elm seed bug (Arocatus melanocephalus) is an insect pest of elm. It is a native of South-Central Europe and was first detected in Idaho in 2012.

This pest is not a threat to trees as much as it is a nuisance to humans. Large populations will enter homes and other buildings in an attempt to escape high outside temperatures.
