Pear thrips

Taeniothrips inconsequens

Pear thrips (Taeniothrips inconsequens) is an insect pest of Sugar Maple and other forest trees. It was first detected in Vermont in 1986.

Damage results from feeding within developing buds and causes extensive defoliation.
