Wheat leaf rust (Puccinia triticina f.sp. tritici) is a fungal pathogen of most varieties of wheat. It is a native of Middle East and was first detected in North America in 1600's. While Leaf Rust does not directly affect the health of the wheat kernals, it does decrease the yield and kernel weight.
